We received a question from Joy about character meet and greets now that Mickey’s Toontown Fair is closed.

There are several changes to the characters offerings at Animal Kingdom over the summer. The changes all apply until August 8 2009.

Meeting beloved Disney characters has become a cornerstone of a Walt Disney World vacation. On April 1, 2011, Mickey Mouse and the Princesses got a new home for meet and greets in the Magic Kingdom at the Town Square Theater. Along with this new venue come changes that will affect the way guests experience characters. So, what exactly does this mean for the way guests tour the park? We’ve updated all of the Magic Kingdom’s touring plans to reflect Toontown’s anticipated closure on February 11, 2011. Adults, ‘tweens and seniors should see few changes. Parents with small children will see the most changes, primarily in when character meet-and-greet opportunities are put in the plans.

Visitors to any Disney Park ask this question that is frequently asked: are Disney Character meet and greets OK for adults. Most people say it's normal and a part of the experience. Others say it's kids' stuff and should be reserved for the younger set. In the rules of Disney, meeting a favorite Disney friend as a grownup is completely OK!
