The Mexico Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase presents a striking vision as it is housed in a pyramid modeled after an actual Aztec temple of Quetzalcoatl in Teotihuacan, Mexico. The architecture was inspired by Mesoamerican structures that date back to the 3rd century.
As impressive as the outer structure appears, it is the interior of the pyramid that really captures your attention and transports you to the culture and feel of Mexico.

Mexico! When I think of Mexico I think of the Food, the Music, and the Tequila. All of these things can make for a fantastic night at Epcot's Mexico Pavilion in the World Showcase.

Last week we gave you our review of La Hacienda de San Angel in Epcot’s Mexico pavilion. Today we’re looking at the attached counter service restaurant, La Cantina de San Angel. La Cantina was once the counter service option in Mexico but has now been expanded with more outdoor seating that sits out a little further into the lagoon as well as an updated menu.

Whether it’s day or night when you walk into the Mexico pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase, it’s always night inside! Beautifully lit on the inside to give the feel of being outdoors under the nighttime sky in Mexico, this pavilion offers a variety of shops, a ride, and a sit-down table service restaurant called San Angel Inn. The Inn serves lunch and dinner daily and accepts Advanced Dining Reservations.

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month in September by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens of Spanish, Mexican, Caribbean, Central and South American decent. And there is no better place to celebrate your appreciate of all things Quetzalcoatl than down at Walt Disney World to enjoy Mexico’s Pavilion at EPCOT!

Last summer we took a look at each of the 11 Pavilions around Epcot’s World Showcase. Come, stroll with us along the 1.2 mile concourse and discover some more of the magic.

Let’s enter World Showcase from Future World and begin our virtual global trek at Mexico. This Pavilion is one of 9 that opened with the Park in 1982. (Morocco opened in 1984, followed by Norway in 1988.)
