Inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios you’ll find a classic restaurant waiting to take you back in time to the heyday of Hollywood – The Hollywood Brown Derby. The Brown Derby restaurant is based on the famous restaurant of the same name, which opened on Valentine’s Day in 1929. One would find many of the actors and actresses of the time enjoying a meal at this popular locale.

The heyday of the original Brown Derby restaurants was the golden age of Hollywood, when Mary Pickford, Clarke Gable, Spencer Tracy, and the young starlet, Lucille Ball, among others, frequented the lush booths in the hat-shaped buildings. Disney’s Hollywood Brown Derby is fashioned after the Hollywood Brown Derby on Vine Street (there were three other Brown Derby restaurants as well), and bears an incredible resemblance inside and out.

Today, we step back into the Hollywood of old for a meal at The Brown Derby of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Matt and I stopped into The Hollywood Brown Derby (my first visit!). We made a reservation for 11:30 to grab something light when it opened.

A new interactive special diets menu was being tested at the Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Whenever I am at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I always like to take a peek inside of the Brown Derby. If nothing else, the restaurant has great bathrooms. But I like the dining room and like dining there even more.

One of the most delicious and historic dining experiences at Walt Disney World, the Hollywood Brown Derby meets all expectations. While it’s only a replica of the famous Hollywood landmark restaurant, the food and service, I have to believe, are just as good.

One of my new favorite restaurants on Walt Disney World property is one I’d never set foot in during all my trips to Disney World: the Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
