Walt Disney Pictures is moving forward with the development of a sequel to its successful 2007 film, Enchanted, according to Variety. The movie will be written by Jessie Nelson and directed by Anne Fletcher (The Proposal, 27 Dresses). Producers from the first film, Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld, will be joining the production team again for the second film in the franchise.

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room at the Walt Disney World Resort has origins that go back to 1963 when the original version of this attraction was added to Disneyland. The Enchanted Tiki Room created quite a stir since it was the first attraction to feature the Disney invented Audio Animatronic figures.

The first Enchanted made an astounding $340.5 million worldwide, with its initial budget being 85 million. That’s quite a profit for a live action fairytale movie in this day and age. It was directed by Kevin Lima from a screenplay written by Bill Kelly, but this time around a few new faces will take over the creative reigns. The studio has hired Anne Fletcher to direct and Jesse Nelson to pen the screenplay.
