Weird...for so many reasons:
1. Is there REALLY a rule that people over 9 yrs old can't wear "princess dresses" in the park?
2. Is this rule the case at the American parks?
3. Why did she even still go in after this?!?

Timberline, I was actually aware of a rule that yes, in the American Disney parks, woman are NOT permitted to wear wedding dresses or gowns. This was just hearsay from friends I've had that were CMs. Not sure the exact wording or exactly how the rule is applied but I've also heard that the official Disney weddings don't even allow brides to take wedding photos in the park during guest hours, even with a Disney photographer.

I've seen older girls (early teens) being silly and wearing dresses but that's about as old as I've ever seen. That seems fine to me. The mom in this story shouldn't have made a big deal out of it. It's sweet that she wants to have that mother-daughter time with her daughter, but she doesn't need to dress up to do it. Besides, how much fun would it be to be soaking wet in a ballgown?

Good point, C i C. Still, it does seem a little over the top. Who maintains all of these rules?
Thanks for your comment disneyGirl -- I wonder what other little-known rules are floating around WDW that nobody really knows about except CMs!

It's Disney policy, Timberline - and besides, who wants to go on Kali River Rapids in a Cinderella gown anyway?
