When we entered Disney California Adventure for the Cars Land preview, we had the option of stepping through a doorway in the construction walls to talk a stroll down brand-new Buena Vista Street. We couldn’t help but gasp as we discovered the transformation.

Think Buena Vista Street is just an entry way to the newly reimagined Disney California Adventure park? Think again. Buena Vista Street transports guests to the California that Walt Disney experienced when he stepped off the train in 1923 and continues to follow the architecture of the following decade.

While nothing will be quite as hectic as Cars Land this summer, lines at other rides and crowds in general will be at levels previously unknown to the one-time “ugly duckling” of the Disney theme parks.
