Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie will be screening at The El Capitain Theatre in Hollywood.

Cinderella comes to Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre later this month!

When a Disney movie opens in Los Angeles, it opens at Disney’s El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, so Patrick and I find ourselves there often. Seeing a movie at the El Capitan is a real event, complete with a pre-show concert of Disney tunes played on the Mighty Wurlitzer organ, a Disney character-filled stage show themed to the feature presentation, and even a mini show on the curtain as it rises.

Every year around this time a renewed interest emerges for Tim Burton’s cult Halloween love story “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Jack and Sally tug at tattered heart strings while quirky characters like “Oogie Boogie” provide spooktacular Halloween antics. Disney often re-releases the film in 3D for the Halloween season & fans don their glasses to relive the experience on the big screen year after year.

The 10th anniversary of “Fantasia 2000” will be marked by a limited engagement of the film at El Capitan Theatre, Feb. 17-27. Accompanying each screening: The animated short "Destino," the storied collaboration between Walt Disney and Salvador Dali that was begun in 1945 but wasn't fully realized until 2004.
