Latest milestone in New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom park is the arrival of Gaston to Belle’s Village – a statue of him.

When I first started writing the piece I wanted to analyze Gaston outside the context of Beauty and the Beast and really focus on him as a character unto himself. I thought Gaston could stand out as an original villain. The problem with this became that the more I looked at Gaston the more I realized that he had many parallels to one of the other characters in the film.
