If you played along in last week’s Giveaway Wednesday trivia challenge, you learned it takes approximately 3 tons of food each day to keep Animal Kingdom’s 1,000+ animals happy. That’s equivalent to about 4.5 years’ supply for the average human being. I get hungry when I’m at Animal Kingdom…but not that hungry!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is most definitely “NotAZoo,” nor is it merely a play place. When it opened in 1998, Animal Kingdom shattered the theme park mold. Imagineers' primary goal, as with other Disney Parks, was to place the Guests in the story. That meant providing Guests opportunities not only to observe but also to interact with creatures—and Characters—in their natural habitats. Take Camp Minnie-Mickey for example.
