True to his statement regarding Al Weiss's recent announcement that he would be retiring later this year, Walt Disney Resort Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs has announced major changes in the leadership structure for the parks and resorts division of the company.

In an attempt to create a more “seamless and personalized” experience, Disney plans to introduce systems that will allow guests to reserve ride times from home and bypass check-in counters entirely, a Disney executive told investors at a conference in Anaheim today.

When Tom Staggs was asked what he’d like to do first as new chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, he said, “Get to the sites, spend time with the Cast and benefit from their knowledge.” And this week, he’s doing just that.
