Our Film of the Month for January is one of the finest adventure dramas of its era, Third Man on the Mountain. This film was only one of the manifestations of Walt Disney’s interest in outdoor recreation, sports, and adventure. Disney historian and frequent Museum contributor Jeff Pepper shares one of the great stories of Walt’s outdoors avocations.

Disney's been doing 3D for more nearly 70 years ...

When we think of what makes the Disney parks special, a number of factors may come to mind....All are valuable, but there’s something else without which the rest would be nothing. The Cast Members….Disney Cast Members are special group of people. And, as Christians, so are we.

While researching my presentation on Walt Disney's fascination with outer space for the Disney Family Museum last July, I was surprised at the quantity and variety of merchandise produced by Disney for the trilogy of television space shows. It was of good quality and it related very closely to the shows.

A friend, upon cleaning out the nooks and crannies of his elderly parents' home, presented me with eight torn, water-stained and near crumbling pages that had been removed from a copy of the December 1957 issue of McCalls magazine. Contained on those pages was an illustrated holiday vignette entitled Walt Disney's Christmas Carol.
