Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Weekend brings women of all ages together to participate in a magical event designed just for them. The Disney Princesses are the inspiration for the weekend’s events and will focus on the attributes every princess possesses: commitment, courage, determination, fantasy, perseverance, and strength.

O’Lenick said she was inspired by the hospital’s Healthy 100 wellness campaign. The group is raising money for Florida Hospital for Children, which is set to open by early March and will bear the Disney name thanks to a $10 million gift from the company in 2007.

Seven-year-old Dawson Girotto, of Courtice, is going to the wall and beyond for his brother.

He will be running at the Walt Disney World Marathon in Florida in the new year, raising funds for his older brother, Jullian, who has neurofibromatosis.
