The Case for the Florida Pirates
This is going to be a hard one to discuss, although it really shouldn't be. Pirates of the Caribbean, in Florida, is one of those rides - the first, in fact - which received a markedly inferior remake the second time around and much of the commentary surrounding the ride itself has been clouded by people falling all over themselves to damn the attraction for not being the first version.

Disneys California Adventure Guests Get Preview of Silly Symphony Swings
On Friday guests at Disney’s California Adventure park received an unexpected treat, a soft opening for the re-imagineered “Silly Symphonies Swings” attraction on Paradise Pier. Formally known as the “Orange Stinger” the swings went under refurbishment as part of Disney’s $1 billion expansion and makeover of the park.

Toy Story Mania update is nine months in the making
Today’s paper has a story looking at how the two-year-old ride Toy Story Mania has been a hit with everyone from Disney’s fans to its corporate accountants. One of the reasons is the ease with which the attraction can be programmed, as it is about to happen with a new Toy Story 3 overlay.
But Disney ride designers are quick to point out that the update isn’t that easy.

Freaky Fridays @ The Haunted Mansion: Nightmare Before Christmas Trip To The Loading Area
In the tradition of the original Fantasyland Dark Rides, much of the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay relies on black light and fluorescent painted 2-dimensional figures. As low-tech and deceptively simple as that may seem, I still think it looks mighty cool, especially in the loading queue area where all of the main characters from Nightmare Before Christmas can be found, including "Sandy Claws."
