An interesting collection of vintage/antique postal memorabilia featuring Disney ties.

Before embarking on his mission, arctic explorer George Wilkins received numerous messages from well-wishers, including a piece of art sent by Walt Disney. Wilkins later said, "One of the greetings I appreciated most came from Walt Disney in Hollywood." The whole story, including Wilkins' history-making exploration, is told here.

Occasionally Thom posts Disney-related material. The image in this post in one such item, which he coincidentally owns. In the accompanying post, Thom said he thought the art may have been created by the great Disney artist Floyd Gottfredson.

Kay Kamen's 1934 Christmas Promotion manual is filled with great photos of some of the advertising items that were available to retailers - this material ranged from paper banners, to column decorations, to large multi-colored scenes, some of which had moving parts.
