I don't think it's enough to overcome my complete lack of artistic skill, but I love these "how to draw" booklets.

We have long been a fan of the work of Greg Maletic. We have in the past featured Greg's beautiful attraction posters here on 2719 Hyperion, and also happily referred readers to his well-written, insightful articles on Laughing Place. Greg just recently unveiled his latest project: Wishing Stars, a Disneyland GPS-based game that is now available for the iPhone.

The Swamp Boys were in fact one of the featured acts in America Sings, an attraction that debuted in Disneyland in 1974. It combined the humorous show dynamic of the Country Bears with the mechanics of the Carousel of Progress building to pay homage to the history of American popular music.

Another great tombstone in the series of Haunted Mansion "who were they" tombstones. Wathel Rogers was a long time veteran of the Animation Department before moving to WED Enterprises in the mid-1950s. Initially part of the model department, Rogers' true calling emerged when Wat Disney drafted him for his now famous "Project LittleMan" which was the genesis of the development of audio-animatronics.

The book is a slim 70 pages and is filled with crystal-clear black & white images from pre-opening to 1959. One of Mell's specialties was aerial photos and the book is filled with aerial shots of every land at Disneyland.

During one of the final scenes of Monsters, Inc., you get a glimpse of the Astro-Jets poster hanging above the child's bed. Of course, this is a pre-1964 poster. This kid must really be into Vintage Disneyland or his parents kept it for him. Or maybe he found it on Ebay!
