Most images we have discovered relating to the 1941 strike against the Walt Disney Studios feature picket lines outside the studio's Burbank location. This particular photograph from the archives of the Los Angeles Examiner shows about a half a dozen members of the Screen Cartoonist Guild picketing in front of the RKO Palace Theatre in Los Angeles.

Walt Disney Imagineering: A Behind the Dreams Look at Making More Magic Real is not an update to the seminal 1996release; it is a continuation. It is a look at the Magic that the Imagineers have created since the publication of the first book.

When asked about my all-time favorite books about Disney, I have a hard time distilling that list to under ten titles. Included in my top ten: Disneyland, The Nickel Tour; Walt Disney's Imagineering; Disneyland Paris - From Sketch to Reality; Walt Disney's Railroad Story; and Michael Barrier's The Animated Man. Rounding out the list is the Gardens of the Walt Disney World Resort.

The following video clip from Youtube is a gem from 1982. Presented is the opening five minutes of One Man's Dream, a 1982 production that looked at Walt Disney's life from the earliest animation to the opening of EPCOT Center. In essence, EPCOT Center was seen as the completion of One Man's Dream.

In the mid-1970s, the Magic Kingdom was usually open from 10:00am until 6:00pm. This left plenty of time for other evening activities. The Disney Village was open until 10:00pm every night and most of the resorts offered late evening activities and dining.

Disney has just released the Blu-ray edition of James and the Giant Peach. We were pleasantly surprised to see the cameos that made it into the film.

Kids today with their high-tech games and gadgets have no appreciation for minimalism in toy design. Case in point--wonderful king-size latex toys from the height of the baby boom. Remember! If it was advertised on the back page of a comic book, you could be guaranteed it was a quality product. At least that was the argument we made to our parents when attempting to cajole the $1.25 needed for the order.
