Walt Disney Imagineering: A Behind the Dreams Look at Making More Magic Real maintains a focus on Imagineering projects that have been developed and created since the original Imagineering book’s release in 1996.

Which direction are we inclined to go when visiting Disney theme parks? Are people more inclined to go to the left or the right in Magic Kingdom, Epcot, etc.? In this case, going to the left would follow the natural clockwise progression of a circle whereas going to the right would run counter-clockwise but would appeal to the vast majority’s handedness.

The Twitterverse and blogosphere were particularly aflutter this weekend with reports from Disney's Hollywood Studios and the Last Tour to Endor promotion being held in conjunction with the Star Wars convention Celebration V. In the second part of a two-part feature on Main Street, U.S.A., we take a look at how that concept influenced other Disney theme parks, and which parks deviated from the concept completely.

The book takes a look at each of the four theme parks within Walt Disney World, offering up a virtual walkthrough of each of the parks’ lands and attractions, detailing the stories behind the secrets. Backed by historical reference and frequent Imagineer quotes, the secrets are presented to the reader as a guide for their own journey through the parks looking for these secrets themselves.

Disney's Folly once mused that Disney was going to bring a Lost-themed attraction to the former Discovery Island location. With the show off the air now, I doubt that Disney would ever come close to developing the island based on a syndication-unfriendly niche show. But that doesn't mean there aren't a multitude of valid, profitable ideas out there to take over Discovery Island.

When we think of some of modern marvels of today's society, our minds will often think of the pyramids or The Great Wall of China. And yes, those of us with the Goofy hats on will offer up compelling arguments for how Walt Disney World is on that list. Thankfully, the History Channel agrees.
