Last November a new option for dessert opened up in the Downtown Disney area. BabyCakes Bakery originally opened in New York City with the intent of offering those with different diets some sweet treat options. These options have now been made available to visitors to the Walt Disney World Resort.

Leaving Their Mark at the Studios
It’s Studios Awareness Week thanks to StudiosCentral, and today for our Hollywood Studios Wednesday we’re taking a look at more of the detail that makes the Studios comparable to the real life versions of what you see in the park. The Chinese Theater and the prints in front of it represent what makes Hollywood, well, Hollywood. The Studios is all about classic Hollywood and the films and stars of the time.

Sir Mickey’s Tells a Story (or two)
Just behind Cinderella Castle in Fantasyland you’ll find a little souvenir shop called Sir Mickey’s. The initial outside appearance of the store leads you to believe it’s centered around Mickey and the Beanstalk, but there’s more to it than that!

Fiber Optics – Lighting the Path
By day, outside of the Innoventions area and leading towards the exit of Epcot, you’ll find your pathway quite normal, but once the sun goes down things start to change. If you keep your eyes on the ground you’ll notice the walkway has some special effects all its own. What we sincerely refer to as “the Billie Jean Blocks” is actually a series of fiber optic points set in the walkway.

Grabbing a Quick Bite at Pop Century’s Food Court
Everything Pop is considered the everything for Pop Century. It’s the place to buy your Disney souvenirs and it’s also the location for the resort’s food court. Stop and Play the Drums
As you come into Africa on the path leading from Asia you’re probably going to hear a steady (or sometimes not so much) beat as it grows louder and louder the closer you get. Don’t be afraid to jump in on the fun yourself when you reach the tribal drums at the Muziki stand.

Donald’s Safari Breakfast at Tusker House
Start your morning in Harambe off with a stop at the Tusker House for a filling breakfast with Donald and his friends. Unfortunately Donald doesn’t seem to be moving around inside the restaurant like he used to. We had breakfast there in April of 2010 and all the characters met you in the dining room, but at our breakfast there this past April, Donald was meeting guests, and having a Cast Member take photos, at the entrance to the restaurant.

A Joke Filled Queue
Waiting to meet Mike and Sulley in The Studios can be quite entertaining. The signage around you explains many rules and regulations to the employees of Monster’s Inc., and they’ll have you laughing instead of screaming.

Don’t Forget About the Little Guys
Visiting The Seas in Epcot means seeing a lot of very interesting creatures like the dolphins, manatees, sharks, sea turtles, and more really big animals. Those really big animals sometimes pull our attention away from the little guys hanging out in nearby rooms. Upstairs you’ll find the Aquaculture Lab full of the smaller, but just as important to the habitat, living creatures.
