Two of Disney Channels' European toppers have ankled as part of the outfit's reintegration with Jetix Europe, now wholly owned by the Mouse House. They are Steve Aranguren, VP for global original programming, Disney Channels Europe, MidEast and Africa, and Michael Cairns, the division's managing director.

Disney has picked up the workplace comedy "Boss," for Scott Rudin to produce. Spec script by Tony Lord and David Cohen, revolves around a 21-year-old who becomes his father's boss.

Execs at Disney Theatrical Prods. have often said that one of the obstacles faced by Mouse tuners is the public perception they're all perennials, so there's no sense of urgency prodding theatergoers to buy tickets. Which sounds like a dubious rationalization for a sales slowdown at "The Little Mermaid" -- until evidence comes along suggesting it might be true.

Disney has boldly told U.S. exhibs it wants to break the theatrical-to-DVD window on at least two titles a year -- beginning with Tim Burton's 3D tentpole "Alice in Wonderland," according to insiders.

According to sources, Disney had pegged an $800 million asking price a month ago and was asking for nonbinding bids of at least $700 million for the library.
